| The use of steel tools to perform day—to—day operational tasks, such as prying open specimen molds or removing stubborn debris from platens, molds or dies, may cause excessive wear or damage these very expensive items. |

Softer brass tools can extend the life of virtually any steel or metal alloy mold or die. ElasTek™ offers a variety of commonly used brass tools:
• brass service brushes with hardwood or polymer handles;
• brass brushes for use with pneumatic and electric power tools such as bench grinders, die-grinders, etc.;
• formed brass rods, with polymer handles;
• brass o-ring removal tools;
• brass pliers, with coated handles;
• brass scrapers with polymer or hardwood handles;
• brass punches and drift pins;
• brass hammers with hardwood or fiberglass handles.

| ElasTek™ is also a source for less commonly used brass tools as well as laboratory tools composed of aluminum, copper, stainless steel and Delrin®. |

Brass, and other softer materials, are often considered to be non-sparking. However, it is important to note than foreign materials may become embedded in them, therefore the possibility for sparking does exist. Tools used in an environment where sources of ignition are a concern should always be rigorously inspected prior to use.
Additionally, these "non-sparking" tools should never be used in an environment where acetylene is, or may be, present. Only tools manufactured specifically for this environment and approved by OSHA should be used.
